Kathleen
My name is Kathleen; My title here at Trinity Holistic Health Center is Office Manager but who I am is your patient advocate and here’s why:
I first came to Trinity Holistic Health Center as a patient 2 years ago. I had been so sick for so many years and was getting worse as time went by. I struggled with spastic colon, IBS, bloating, diarrhea, and anxiety due to all that! I was basically confined to my home and workplace because I needed to be near a bathroom all the time! That went on for a good 15 years and then the weakness, extreme exhaustion, chronic cough, sever allergic reactions, and nausea began. I somehow was able to go to work every day but it took me all weekend to gain my strength back! I had gone to numerous doctors who referred me to a couple different specialists who sent me for lab work who then referred me to a psychiatrist because they could not find anything wrong with me!
You just know your own body; I knew I wasn’t crazy but I had really lost all hope of ever feeling good again which began the depression! I prayed everyday for the Lord to either heal me or direct me to someone who could help me! Every week I would ask the girls in my small group to pray for my healing until about 1 month later one of the girls referred me to Dr Mike. It turned out to be mercury poisoning from the silver fillings in my teeth, can you imagine that? It’s been a long journey and a lot of detoxing but I am happy to tell you that the quality of my life has changed dramatically!
There were many times I wanted to give up but I was blessed enough to have someone come along side of me to help me through the process; kind of like a cheerleader! I felt so alone because no one understood what I was going thru; my family was so tired of hearing about me being sick that I just stopped telling anyone and was forced to decline all invitations because I never felt good! It took me all weekend to recover from working a 40 hr week. Many times I felt like giving up but this person understood what I was going through and what it felt like because she had gone through the same thing! She explained things to me and encouraged me along the journey.
That’s where the patient advocate comes in; my passion is to be that person for you! As your “Patient Advocate (I prefer cheerleader),” my job is to ensure that you receive the best possible service here at THHC and to make sure that all of your health needs are addressed and all of your questions are answered. My goal is to give you the encouragement; advice, guidance, and knowledge you need to get healthy and stay healthy. We consider each of our clients as dear friends, and as such, I will do my part to make sure you are maintaining your good health practices, so don’t be surprised if I call you from time to time.
So come on in! I can’t wait to meet you and work with you as you start on your road to wellness
